App Link is a free tool that creates a single smart URL for your mobile app. When someone opens the link, they are automatically redirected to the correct app store based on their device — App Store for iPhone/iPad, Google Play for Android. Desktop visitors see a landing page with QR codes for both stores.
Do I need both an App Store and Google Play link?▾
No. You can create a smart link with just one store URL. If a user opens the link on a platform you haven't provided a URL for, they will see the desktop landing page with the available store link instead.
How does the redirect work?▾
We detect the visitor's device using the User-Agent header. iPhone, iPad, and iPod users are redirected to the App Store. Android users are redirected to Google Play. Everyone else sees a landing page with direct links and QR codes. The redirect uses a meta-refresh tag so social media crawlers can still read the Open Graph tags for rich link previews.
Is App Link free?▾
Yes, App Link is completely free to use. There are no limits on the number of links you can create or the number of redirects.
Can I customize the link preview on social media?▾
Yes. When creating a link, you can edit the title, description, and OG image that appear when the link is shared on social media, messaging apps, or anywhere that supports Open Graph previews.
